Elder Leland Wilson
Director of the Ministry of Christian Education & Outreach
Essential to any congregation, this ministry prepares and instructs classes for all ages in The Word of God in an effort to empower, enrich and enlighten the lives of all parishioners and well-wishers.
Elder Wilson assists the pastors in the promotion and development of the Word of God by preparing, scheduling and selecting those individuals to instruct students in all age groups. In addition, he is responsible for the evaluation of instructors and making sure their needs/supplies are met as it relates to their class.
The purpose of the Ministry of Outreach is to reach the lost, especially those located within our immediate area of Worship. Presently, the church is represented monthly at an area nursing home, and monthly at the House of Correction for Men and Women in a nearby suburb. In addition, the Ministry of Outreach consists of witnessing to individuals and families, distribution of items needed by the residents throughout this community (i.e., tracks, ad cards and/or flyers related to free meals, school supplies, clothing, etc.), and free tutoring to area students. The distribution of food and food baskets occur on a seasonal basis.
